Family member (maie, age 70) has been diagnosed with liver cancer (terminal) yrs ago. Any advice?

Now receiving Chemo every 2 weeks and health failing. Lives with his son, and both his son his wife work. No one at home to take care of him. He has fallen a few times and unable to get up. Eyesight very bad. This individual worked at the senior center for the last two yrs., but now he is finding it difficult to go to work. They don't want to rush to judgement. Can you offer some advice..

Is it possible the 70 year old gentlemen might not want to leave the home, he may be happy there? If this is the case, talk to the family about having him evaluated for hospice, that hospice provides therapy as well that their family member might actually enjoy. Some families find it difficult to accept loss, it doesn't mean they don't love them. It sounds like the gentlemen and his family need help.

Family should ask the MD for Hospice care in the home. If they don't report the neglect to APS.
