Tax deductions for items donated to a hospice

Hit post too fast -- If the estate is large enough that there is tax involved, then a lawyer would be advisable to handle all the affairs.

flavourset, unless an estate is substantial or the heir not in direct line for inheritance, there are no estate taxes any more. Even if the estate is huge, if you were the person to inherit the furniture, you can donate it. I don't see any problem there. Unless the furniture is collectible, I don't think its value would be considered.

First question to answer is how big is the estate. Most estates won't be taxed.

pamstegman, thanks for trying to answer however, you misunderstood the question, if the proper inheritor of the deceased possessions and executor of the deceased's will wants to donate furniture to a non profit hospice are the donations tax deductible.,

NO NO NO you have no authority to do that. Bad Move. It's called larceny.
