Does Medicare cover the cost of putting in a wheelchair accessible shower?

This is for my 102 yr old aunt who is blind and handicapped.

When my dad lived with me Americans With Disabilities came out and put up handrails in the garage for my dad to use. Free. And they used reconstituted wood from other projects they had done.

True. You can get an outfit like Bath Fitter to do a tub wall cut for about $1000, but it's all out of your own pocket. Home Depot can sell you a tub wall cut kit for $350-400, if you happen to be good with tools. Note: using a sawzall on a bathtub is not for rookies.

Pam...I'm guessing that is the same for the walkin tub as well...... ugh :(

No this is considered remodeling that would add value to the home, a "capital improvement". Medicare would cover the rental of things like hospital beds, but for home improvements you are on your own.
