Can EMT's that are payed to work, send a bill to you for coming out to help?

EMT's picked my husband up off the floor? They have record of 100 times told me they may have to send me a $50.00 bill each time and he needs to be in nursing home..Doctors know it and say the same thing but cannot because husband is very verbal towards me and some of the doctors. But he is able to make choices and doctors say they cannot put him in unwilling.

We have Medicare and have never received a bill or paid a cent for emergency services.

Yes. I've had several bills from the emergency services company from when my dad fell and they came out to get him off the floor.

Yes, they can. They get paid to work by the city; as taxpayers, we foot the overall bill for their services, but they bill individuals for services rendered. If I get taken to the hospital via 911 call, I get a bill from EMS. My insurance company pays it if they deem it a legitimate use of emergency services, but WON'T pay it if they think that it's frivolous. Do you have insurance? Medicaid? Next time he falls, have him taken to the hospital. Get him admitted. Then you will have the discharge planning people there to help you get him into a NH. YOU can't live like this.
