There's a history of diabetes in my family...I mean EVERYONE over a certain age has it. Well I tested my blood this morning and I was at 200..tested thru the day and I ranged from 198 to 319. Oh h*ll I do not want to be diabetic. I can't stand the thought of giving myself a shot. What are my chances of just cutting out sugar and bringing it down like that? Could it be stress? Or because I am not feeling well? or am I not feeling well because my blood sugar is high? ARGH....I know, I know...I need to go the doctor but lort I don't have $200 right now.

Research diabetic diets and follow the advice given on changing your diet.
I would also do some research to determine if there are any clinics in your area which provide free, lower cost, or payment plan care. Also research Hill Burton hospitals and clinics - it's my understanding that those who have accepted funding pursuant to this federal act are required to provide care to indigents.
Don't you have any health care plan at all?

I know what you mean about not having the money. I agree with what Boni wrote about the complications that can have either higher costs. Your glucose levels are not out of sight yet, so it is probably the best time to see your doctor. I hope that it is either just a temporary thing or that it can be treated with oral medication. That would be good.
There is all kinds of info online. Read the nutrition info on any package you cook with or plan to eat for carbs/serving. Seeing your doctor is the best thing to do.
Good luck!
