I'm afraid and feel that I've made my Mom into a monster. Any advice?

My 99yr old Mother is in a rehab awaiting long term care but she is extremely combative, hits, kicks, bites, punches, all she saids is that she wants to go home - everyone is telling me that this is dementia making her this way - I feel that I am doing this to her because I am not taking her home - what if she acts up at home with a caretaker - I am afraid and I feel I've made my Mother into a monster.....

Everybody is telling you it's the dementia. Everyone is right. Leave her there and visit as you can. Home doesn't mean home with you, it means some other mythical place in her mind where she can never go until she passes. Deal with your sadness but don't think you fix things by bringing h
