My mother left things to the grandchildren, but a will was never read & thye received nothing. Now that my father remarried & is close to death. He has said that he is leaving his van to my sister & she has to pay 1/2 of the value ot me. She found that out & said that she is letting his new wife keep it. I don't want conflicts or problems or to be greedy. He has left a lot of money & a house to her. I am fairly sure that she will sell it & keep the money. She is in her 80's & what is left of my father's things will go to his new wife's daughter. His new wife has taken care of my dad for about 06 years & does deserve to be rewarded fo that, but to what end? What if I am never allowed to go to the reading of the will again? I don't know who the executor of the estate is or if I should even ask any questions about this.

Would it be possible to ask your Dad's current wife if your Dad had updated his will? Sometimes when people remarry at a later stage of their life, they forget to update their wills. You father's will may still be showing that your Mom and her heirs will inherit his estate. If that is the case, Dad will need to update his will while he is still of clear mind.
As for your mother's will, why wasn't it probated? Or maybe your Mom had left everything to your Dad, and never had it in writing about the grandchildren. If the "things" are still available, your Dad can put those items in his will, if that is what he wants to do.
As to when your mom passed, it would be very unusual for a spouse to leave piecemeal things to other family members. Most of the time, a spouse leaves everything to a spouse. Since your dad was alive when she passed, everything went to him. That's the way it usually works.
