How do I apply for a dog for my husband who has Alzheimer's?
Mt husband has had Alzheimer's for 10 years and it would help with him walking and wondering, I always worry that he may leave if I go to another room for any length of times, he alway loved dogs so could you help
Carer25, as for your husband leaving.... you mean leaving the house and wandering off? Curious, how would a dog stop him? A regular dog would love to go outside and walk, heaven knows how many miles, and you would have both of them lost, as a dog will follow his master.
If you are afraid you hubby will open the door and go outside, get some type of inside digital door locks where only you have the code to opening the door.
