I am 53 years old and I need assistance with grocery shopping. Do I qualify for any services?

Driving, pricing, unloading and some cleaning.

Call the Council on Aging. I have a relative who takes several elderly men out for shopping, ( he works through the local council) and they should have someone who would do it for a minimum fee.

Peapod? Amazon fresh? Soap for hygeine items perhaps.

The facility does provide meal options. The type of service my brother needs is assistance with shopping....he has no way of getting to and from the store to purchase personal items he needs or wants....which could include clothes, hygiene items, any special items, vitamins, etc., etc.....just "whatever" he may want to purchase with his $25/mo allowance. That is all the $$ he gets each month, so he can't afford a regular grocery store "delivery" service, such as what Publix might offer, or what other delivery services might offer. I was hoping some church ministry might provide such a service but haven't been able to find anything yet.

He's in an assisted living facility that doesn't provide a meal option?

I am inquiring on the behalf of my brother, who is 63, totally blind, and is living in an assisted living facility in Jacksonville, Fl 32205. I'm trying to find a service that would deliver food and/or beverages to the AL facility where he lives. This facility does not provide regular shopping trips to places like Walmart or other grocery stores and since he is blind, he cannot drive himself. It would be great if he could place an order, either via telephone or online (with the assistance of myself or some other person with a computer), and have the delivery brought to the facility that he's living in.

Are you disabled in some way? A little more explanation would be helpful.

Do you mean assistance in paying for groceries, or just the normal routine of driving to the store and going inside to get groceries?

If it is just the normal grocery shopping routine, check around to see if any of your local grocery stores have on-line grocery shopping with home delivery. In my area we have several groceries stores that do that, and what a life saver that has been for me. It's like having a personal shopper do your grocery shopping :)

No cleaning and shopping come out of pocket.
