When Mom passes, where do I put my husband temporarily while I'm at the funeral?

Mom in NY and husband in FL with dementia. My husband is too far into dementia to fly to funeral with me. Does the VA nursing homes let veterans stay for about 5 days? There is one in my town in St. Augustine, FL. I am at my whits end, trying to figure out what to do when my mother passes in NY. She is at end stage Alzheimer's. and will pass soon. I tried the local COA to see if they knew any options. My husband is incontinent, puts his hands in his poop, and I can't see taking him through airport security or flying. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
