If the Dad has already send in money to said sweepstakes, he has given *permission* to be on the mailing list so they won't get scrubbed. And that *permission* is also granted to all the companies that are under that business umbrella.
Sunflo is right about needing permission from Dad to get a PO box in his name.... you can make up some story why getting a PO box is needed at this time.
You can place his name and address on do not call list and Google "junk mail" and get him off those lists. You will have to do this several times aver a few months before it finally diminishes. We did this for mom plus temporarily had her mail sent to my home for about a couple months. Then had it sent back to her. Sorry, legally you can't collect the mail and redeliver without his permission.
The Post Office won't deliver mail to the house if you request ALL mail be re-directed to the post office box. It's similar to what is done if you moved to a new house.
2101Windsong, how is your Dad hearing about these sweepstakes? If through the mail, then get him a post office box where you pick up the mail for him, that way you can toss out those sweepstake envelopes since those are usually sent bulk mail. I know the PO Box can be a real pain, but if it keeps your Dad from wasting money it would be well worth it.
