I seem to be having a problem lately with energy depletion and not able to get built back up for more than a day. Any suggestions?

I would have thought my energy level would have been fine today as mom slept most all day til the p.m. and I mostly just did laundry. I did take a long time out to read an excellent book.
This is a new problem for me. Not sure what is going on. I know I seem to have chronic sleep problems as well.

Could be mental exhaustion (thinking, thinking, thinking... sometimes subliminal and we can't shut it off). This combined with the change in weather(?). We really have to try different things to make us sleep because we don't want to get sick by lowering our immune system. Try meditation or ? to divert your mind. Let us know how it's going.

Your energy depletion I'm sure is at least partly caused by the stress of caregiving. Have you been tested for anemia? Perhaps you should get some blood work done to be sure everything is OK. Several years ago I used to wake up tired (unrefreshed sleep) about twice a week, now I wake up tired every other day. I go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning, so I have never understood why some days I wake up feeling fine and other days wake up feeling tired/exhausted.

What helps me a bit is having some regular physical exercise. Working up a sweat and getting my heart pumping seems to help stop the 'wheels turning' in my head at night. When I don't keep to a regular exercise schedule, I notice that it's harder to get to sleep and stay asleep.

ive been conciously trying not to rehash the days events when my head hits the pillow at night . only been trying it for 3 nights and i seem to be falling into a heavier sleep and getting close to the desired 8 hrs . if you dont drop into the deep freeze zone of sleeping your body does not refresh like it should .

When you say you have 'chronic sleep problems' what exactly does that mean? Because not getting enough sleep will surely deplete ANYONES energy.

My Energy plumits. I have days I am good others, not. I am trying to take care of my Father (MDD possible Dementia) and Son. I was questioning Depression, but am not sure that is the issue.
From what I have read caregivers tend to get burnout. Could that be possible? Have you ruled out any physical causes?
