Where to find daytime activity at a place that picks up and returns to our residence?

My spouse (92) diagnosed with dementia, not allowed to drive. I am still working full time and am not available to transport because I leave at 6:45 AM to get to work, and there until 4PM. He is not caring for himself (changing clothes he has worn for weeks) even though he may be washing up and returning to the same clothes. He is not totally mobile (spinal stenosis, chf, hbp, bph, deaf (won't wear hearing aid), etc.

That's a long time for someone with his conditions to be away from home. I guess it depends on the level of dementia and physical stamina, but from my experience with dementia patients they don't tolerate being in a social setting for long periods of time. Pam is right though. If he is a veteran, maybe they will make arrangements to accomodate his schedule.

The problem here is the long hours involved. Most adult day care is a half day, either morning or afternoon. I don't know of any that will pick up at 6:30 AM.
On the other hand, if he is a wartime vet with few resources, VA will provide Aide and Attendance for in home care. I would look into that.
