I used to give my mom a few at a time, and tell her they were to make her feel better. That worked well, she never fought me.

Does she say why she doesn't want to take them? If it's because of the taste use pudding or yogurt-they go down easier. If it's because of how they make her feel/side effects, speak with her doctor. I agree with the above answers, if she doesn't take them now, try again in 15 minutes. Take out non essentials such as the vitamins (talk to the doctor first) as it's more accepting to take a couple vs eight. You didn't say if your wife has dementia, if she does contact your local Alzheimer's Association chapter, they will be able to give you info on medications.

If you still cannot get her to take her medicine this morning, I suggest calling her doctor's office. It is not healthy for a person to miss their meds. I know for I take a bunch of meds everyday and sometimes I forget some or all of them.

I would always give my mom her pills the same time each day. If she wouldn't take i would try again later in the day, this sometimes worked. Also, with the foctors permission, I took out any pills that were not really necessary like vitamins, calcium, etc. mom was much more agreeable to take 2 pills instead of 5. Talk to your doctor before you stop any medicines. Good luck
