My mother-in-law is completely incapicitated with Alzheimer's since 2011. Her 2 children from a previous marriage have stopped paying her rental income (about $2000 a month) from a fully rented jointly held rental property. Her POA, husband had no choice but to hire an attorney who filed a partition sale civil action. 1 year and $45,000 in legal fees later the property is still not for sale. Both lawyers agreed at hearing with Judge that property would be put up for sale. Her 2 children have yet to sign sales agreement 9 weeks later. Their lawyer cannot file a motion to compel yet since it was just an agreement between lawyers to sell not a court order. Their lawyer as asked for a conference with Judge but it has yet to be scheduled. Her husband has little money remaining to pay their attorney and because the plaintiffs lawyers is stalling and not responding to their lawyers requests their legal fees keep mounting. Any suggestions for someone who can assist an Elderly Couple who has exhausted their savings on legal fees.

And this sad story just proves once again how and why lawyers are thought to be some of the least trustworthy people on Earth. They know how to milk a situation for all thr money they can get out of it. It ought to be illegal--but in order to get any justice, you'd have to go get another lawyer!
