Trying to switch from OHP to Medicaid, but there is "no policy written yet for this transition." Advice?

I have been uninsured since 1/1/15. HELP! I qualify for Medicaid & my application was received in early July 2014. After a total of 4 hours on hold in January, I was told by Medicaid that they can't process my application until Medicaid receives a "procedure" to follow in order to make the transition from one government entity to another (Oregon Health Plan to Medicaid). In addition, the only way I will know when I'm covered is through the mail, apx. 3 weeks once they know the "procedure", which has no expected arrival date; or, I can keep calling the Medicaid Office and wait on hold for another few hours. I take medications for hypertension and need refills monthly. Again, HELP!

Call your congressman and ask him/her to look into this. Also call your state senator and assemblyman. There is no excuse for a 6 month lag.

Can't help you with the transition problem, is it due to the Affordable Care Act? Maybe all the ducks aren't in a row yet.

However, SOMETIMES, a pharmaceutical company can give discounts or help out with medications that are needed, but no prescription insurance. Go to the website of the maker of your medications (it will say on the prescription bottle) and see if there is a link or a mention of how to apply.

Certainly all this isn't good for your blood pressure.
