We have taken my father home from the hospital recently, and home care informed us today that they would only be able to provide a few hours of help per week. It's quickly becoming apparent that the situation is unworkable. My father is not mobile enough for bathroom use, is using a peg tub and takes many many medications. My mother is 75 and simply not physically able to care for him, and we all have full time jobs and kids. We are trying to figure out just how many hours a day he is going to need an aid. Any how much it will cost. My parents are not people of means, but they also are not eligible for medicaid. So how much can we expect to pay for a somewhat experienced aid? I really have no idea how much they cost or how to find one who is good.
Thanks

Find a reputable home healthcare agency, one that screens it's employees and does thorough background checks. The employees should also be insured and bonded.
