I need a new will since my husband died 3 months ago. Second marriage for both of us, no children from either marriage. I have one brother who I am not close to. Have a few nieces, but none I am 'good friends' with. I need help deciding Durable POA, Health Care Surrogate, who gets any monies, etc. I have one friend but don't want to put her name on everything, she is not a well person, kind of lost them all taking care of my man for the last 7 years.
What do I need.... an attorney, a financial person of some kind? I want someone who can suggest possible ways to go. I am not sure whose name I want on anything. I am not rich, but comfortable. If I died by accident, I don't want the person now in the will to get my money. What expert should I talk to. Confused.

I have my Elder Law attorney as a second choice name for the financial POA. For the medical POA, that was real tough as I have no children and no siblings, as in my State she wanted me to give her four names and she couldn't be one of the name. My close friends all disappeared after 6 years of not having time to be with them, they couldn't relate what I was going through with my parents :(
