What would be an appropriate amount of liability insurance, when caring for 3 people?

Liability insurance: after the fiasco with my employer I am seriously considering getting insurance to cover myself. In case something terrible would happen. Would this be called liability insurance? Who would I get this through? I only have my vehicle insurance(which they are never in). No homeowners insurance. Thanks!

Both children are ADHD. The eldest just turned 14. He has mild aspergers. Their 81 y/o g-ma has moderate dementia.

ellenlenn, good heavens, you are doing the work of 2 people. Time to tell your boss you are either going to be the Nanny for his 2 teenage sons, or you are going to be the full-time Caregiver for his elderly Mom.... you cannot be both. Now I can understand why you want liability insurance.

I am thinking about the teenage son who needs to watch over his special needs teenage brother AND their grandmother. That is over stepping the bounds by the father to have that son be responsible.

It's professional indemnity insurance that you're after: ring a few brokers and see what they suggest. But what was the fiasco? - sorry, I think I've missed something.

Yes, in case someone else gets hurt while I'm on duty. Thank you, I will contact my insurance company on Monday. Thanks again! 😊

Are you asking about insurance in case you hurt yourself, or insurance in case someone else hurts themselves.... if the latter, there is something called an "umbrella policy" which covers $1M in case someone hurts themselves, these policies are around $250 per year. There could be other types of policies out there, too. Any well know insurance company that sell auto/home insurance will carry such policies.
