I belong to a free/pay nanny site, where I am a free member. I have seen a few people mention about there being a law that states that you must be paid for a minimum of 3 hours, even if you only work, say 2 or 2 1/4. I tried to ask a question regarding that specifically, but apparently unless you are a paid member, your questions go away, and can't be answered. I tried to look it up online, but haven't had any luck in finding any answers. Has anyone heard of this? Thanks!

New York has a 4 hour minimum for call-outs, but no minimum on regularly scheduled shifts. check your state labor laws.

When I was a consultant my employer had a policy of billing only in half-hour increments. If I worked about 2.25 hours I had to decide whether it was closer to 2 hours or 2.5 hours.
Perhaps this is something like that. The organization has a policy for a 3 hour minimum.
