I'm 80 and my daughter is sometmes unavailable and I would feel less anxious if I had someone. I can pay to have someone go to drs with me, and be notified if I have to go to the ER and stay with me in the hospital.
Contact your county office of the aging and talk to your MD about a suitable person for a Health Care Proxy. This person would make decisions for you, but they do not stay at the hospital with you. Hospitals would only allow a paid professional ordered by your MD.
