My wife has to stay with me 24hr, can she get paid as a caregiver?

I am 34, but cannot drive, be home alone, or do things do to my epilepsy. I have seizures 4+ times a month. I cannot drive, be alone, and after a seizure cannot function for at least a day or two. My wife takes care of my two boys and me, and cannot get a job to help support our family due to this. Will she qualify for any kind of caregiver benefit?

My wife and I do get some food stamps, a little rent assistance and my disability from work. I am trying to get social security benefits but was denied twice. I have to appear in court but waiting date. She watches or 3 year old and my 7 year old is at school.

How are you and your wife surviving now with no one working? Are your getting social security disability or getting some type of welfare funds, food stamps, etc?

Are you on Medicaid? If so, check with your State's Medicaid office to see if they have a "Cash and Counseling" program where your wife could get from funds to use for your care. Or see if Medicaid could bring in a professional Caregiver from an agency, that way your wife could go out an get a job so she can help bring in money for the family and also to plan for her retirement.
