Pam is right. Virtually impossible to do over the phone. I live 600 miles from my parents and am able to keep a handle on things long distance but when things first started breaking down I spent weeks at a time down home taking care of business. Currently, they're holding there own, I do bills, financial, monitor doc appointments etc from my home and phone each day. I just retired so I have time to deal with things. It would be very difficult if I were still working. I keep a daily log of any illnesses, events etc. I consider myself to be on call and ready to jump in the car for the ten hour drive on a moments notice.
