My brother (70) was just released from the hospital with CHF and 50% renal failure and he need me his sister too prepare meals, wash dishes, clothes, clean, pay bills, grocery shopping, etc.
Majority of siblings do not get paid for caring for their brother or sister, unless the sibling is financially able to pay from their own pocket. If a your brother can afford to pay you, your brother might as well hire a certified trained caregiver… thus allowing you to keep a full-time job so that you can add to your own retirement.
NO you won't get paid. Medicaid will pay for a nursing home, or for a visiting nurse, or a certified CNA or HHA from an agency. They will not pay relatives or friends or roommates.
