Has anyone had any experience w/respite care given in the home?

My spouse is in the early stages of dementia but is declining rapidly. He refuses to let family members stay with him and insists that he has to go where I go - he also needs some mental stimulation to help him with his memory problems which are getting worse as he becomes more dependent on me for everything.
