I have breast cancer and am my own caregiver. How can I do both since no children close by?

Friends are somewhat helpful. i have arthritis, spinal stenosis, fibromyalgia, cronic pain, sciatica. I am 83, bills are pilling up.

Are your children aware of your problems? Have you asked them for help?

You need Medicaid. Even if your income is over the limit, high expenses for health care would probably make you qualify. Call your county office of the aging. If you are the widow of a wartime veteran, ask about a widow's pension from the VA.

I am sorry to hear that you have breast cancer and hope you are able to beat it.

Are any of your children POA for you financially and medically? If so, they need to come and help you with these pilling up bills. Do you have enough money to pay them.

I think that you need to call Adult Protective Services in the morning and explain your situation to them and see if there anything that they can do for you.

I'm sorry that you are so alone as your own caregiver. Please keep in touch and let us know how things are going.
