Is there a program for aqua exercise available for disabled people?
i am a disabled american veteran 56 years old with various health issues who is very overweight in need of a low impact way to lose weight and i do not have any money to spend
You might call your local Y - they often have low cost memberships and classes in the pool for a variety of levels and needs. You might also check with the local VA reps in your area and ask about what services they can hook you up with.
I know in my town, one of the Workout clubs has an indoor pool and an indoor therapy pool. You can purchase a book of tickets that cover a number of sessions in the pool/therapy pool.
Also if your doctor feels that your condition warrants aqua therapy, it may be covered by you health benefits through the VA or other sources.
One suggestion is to call your local agency on aging for local programs that might be available to help you... if you live in the States, go to the website link below.... click on your State.... now click on the city/county. https://www.agingcare.com/local/Area-Agency-on-Aging
