Sheril, first thing you need to ask your parents if they would be willing to take a taxi or senior bus? You'd be surprised how many elders will refuse to ride with someone who isn't family. I ran into that problem with my parents.

Most communities do have some form of transportation for this purpose. Some insurance policies even provide transportation. Check with your Senior Help Line or your Area Agency on Aging to see what is available for them.
