I am in my 50s and taking care of my wife who has late stage cancer. We have been dealing and fighting for 25 years but the breast cancer has metastized over the past few years to bones, brain, lungs and liver. I have a very flexible work situation which allows me to care for her everyday. There are many issues that I am learning to deal with including financial, emotional, and medical. I would love to connect with others in similar situations.
Heartofgold, there is one blogger who comes to mind that is on this site that is caring for her hubby. Here is her link, and you will see articles that she has written, then click on the "comments" to hear from others.
Aw it must be awful for you being so young and having to deal with a spouse. How old is your husband? Does he have dementia? I've been caring for my mother who is 78 and three years into dementia. I am still struggling so much with acceptance. My once vibrant, sharp articulate best friend is deteriorating day by day. We have to stay strong. Do you have family/friends who can help out and allow you some 'me time' Bless you. Vent out to friends and people on this site tk try to get things off your chest. Hugs.
