You guys are cracking me up!!! Thanks i needed that laugh. Because Im the newbie I assume that you all know the abbreviations and I don't. It is a Patient Review Instrument and it was supposed to be done today and they cancelled it for tomorrow. I spoke to social services yesterday and they said it goes to the facility that you are trying to put the patient in. I am hoping somewhere along the way someone will take my step dad aside and and he may just listen to them because he isn't listening to me.
It is an instrument that determines a patient's category for NH eligibility and reimbursement. It seems to me that the doctor would determine if your mom is eligible for NH care, and if eligible for Meficaid, if they would pay.
I think after a determination, your stepfather would still need to find a NH for your mom. This is why i think you need to get an outside SW involved, to help him through this process.
yes..... what is a PRI....... A while back My complaint about the courtesy of adding the full name to the abreviation the 1st time you use it in your text...started a rather funny discussion trail, but I am still asking Aging Care to add that request to the top of the homepage , so we Abreviation-dummies can figure out what's meant........I wish you well !!!
