When a spouse goes into nursing home does Medicaid take all that spouses money?

This is a complex issue with no simple answe. You need to see and eldercare attorney. If you look on you stat's Medicaid site, you will see that an allowance is made for the 'community' spouse, you are allowed to retain assets, income, etc. Your home remains yours while you live in it. It does the government no good to impoverish you. I'm hoping by answeing I'll bump the question back to the top for some more complete answers.
