Also, finding out why she fell would be helpful for the doctors to know. For example, was she dizzy, did she trip, did she have a headache or pain before the fall, did she faint, how was/is her vision? Why do you think she fell backwards? Is she weak, or anemic? (No need to answer, just make your own notes for the m.d.
Yes, I would be concerned. If she was rayed for broken bones, hips, etc.. the better everything is well. But when she fell backwards, she easily can have hit something with her head. Or even the hard contact of her head with the floor is sufficient to cause internal damages. May be some bleeding of the brain, or the brain thus damaged and it is swollen, and then she can have severe head pains. So I would take her to the nearest hospital where they can take an MRI because brain injuries are not visible by simple x-raying. Hope it is just temporary head pain. But certainly necessary to have it checked. regards and big hug
My mother recently fell backwards down a flight of stairs. Her injuries were 2 broken vertebrae, fractured pelvis and bleeding on the brain (which is not visible on an xray!!) This is very serious. Make SURE she gets an MRI and/or CAT scan as soon as possible! The MRI could also show slipped discs, and other disc issues ... broken bones are not the only thing that happen during a fall.
