Most of my family has battled addiction issues. My younger sister died from an overdose of pain meds at age 42 leaving 2 small boys. My mother got herself addicted to the oxy stuff after years of medical problems and dumb a** docs who write scripts any time she whines about a new pain. Long story short, it got to where she was sleeping all day, falling, ER visits from diabetic shock etc. I did the tough love and slowly cut her back to a very low dose. She now does much better. The change has been dramatic. I'd advise not to screw around with this. Take action and ignore the whining. But keep in mind she might have some withdrawal issues. Start slowly.
