Is anyone dealing with hallucinations?

jeannegibbs May 2015
JojoD, many of us are dealing or have dealt with hallucinations. Visual hallucinations are very often the earliest symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia. In other forms of dementia they may occur much later in the process. Drugs and even a UTI are other causes of dementia.

Is there some specific behavior you'd like help with?

If you see her talking to invisible men, that is an hallucination.
If she tells you she is going on a cruise, that is a delusion. Or, if she tells you the neighbors are bootleggers, that is a delusion.
It's important to know the difference and observe the difference.

My mother does have hallucinations and I always tease her and say "Why can't you have hallucinations of hot men dancing in your room"? That seems to lighten the mood.

She had horrible ones about 2 years ago and I tried to convince her they weren't real...that didn't work so I just went with the flow. Hers were from medication and once we took her off of it, they stopped. It was a Parkinson's drug (amantadine).

Could it be from medications?
