Your county or township should have something like The Council on Aging or similar that can come out, interview your mom, and give her a run-down on what help may be available either free of charge or at very reasonable cost.
in my area, mom qualified for Meals on Wheels at a suggested donation of $15 a week. (If I remember correctly.) she also had a lady who came every two weeks for two hours who did light house cleaning and laundry. Cost was $14 each time...$28 a month. Her town shoveled her snow for $20 a time...4 inches or more.
She may have qualified for more had she had less money in the bank.
