My grandfather (74) recently had to quit his job due to finding out he has cancer. Is there financial assistance for medical coverage?

He is worried now that he has to stop working he wont beable to pay his bills anymore, he does get SS and has medicare but the medicare wont cover his doctors appointments and bills. is there any assistance that he could look into getting help with these issues
