Both in assisted living, one on Medicaid. Private pay person just received pension. Does it count against Medicaid person?

husband is private pay and I am on Medicaid in assisted living facility in WA state. he just rec'd retro pension payment and will now be getting a monthly stipend from the VA.
we are spending down on exempt items. how much will any retro pay left and his monthly pension affect my medicaid
