My mother is losing het ability to stand and walk. She is still at home. My dad is paying for home aides from 8 am to 3. Then 6 to bedtime through the week when I cannot be there. I spend weekends and cover various times through the week. Recently, Mom seems to be losing the ability to stand and walk. She just says ok and fiddles, or presses down into the chair. If we get her up she might walk or her legs just become pillars pressing into the floor. She seems unable to send the right signals to her legs. It takes 2 people to get her up then into a wheel chair then out of the wheelchair to the destination. We cant hve 2 people there all the time. We need some ideas of solutions. I am looking for suggestions of - affordable lifting devices, ways to learn lifting techniques ONE person can use to lift 250 lbs of dead - is it possible to get a lifting device through medicare? Where are we headed with this? Is bed to wheel chair to bath room to wheelchair kitchen to recliner to wheel chair to bed really feasable? Is this done at home or are wr insane to attempt it? HOW?

They might do the Rx for the lift, and maybe a trial of physical therapy too!
