Is there a Canadian group?

Different countries have differing laws, programs and the availability of assistance but I think the nitty gritty and daily challenges of being a care giver asre the same world wide.

Short answer, NO. I have found nothing comparable to this forum anywhere, and certainly not in Canada. There are forums specific to the alzheimer's society etc, but often questions seem to never be answered or the threads are very brief. Yes, a lot of the Q&A here relates to American medicaid and hospice, but I find even those threads interesting as I compare our various health care systems. And the daily coping mechanisms found by others are truly international; aging, death and dementia know no boundaries.

There are a number of Canadians here (EMJO and Ashlynne are two that come to mind, and a number of Brits as well. Mostly Americans but we can all learn from each other. Situtions are very similar but very different. Welcome honoria. Find a thread and post your situation, read others, we are all help each other regardless of where we live.
