Can it be done at home, or does it have to be done in SNF. My wife 76 (bed bound at home but not disabled) has lost 40+ pounds in 6 months due to bad taste in mouth. she was 150+ is now 106+. She tries to eat and eats a bit better better but because of IBS, HYPOGLCEMIA, bad taste in mouth due to Biofilm (bacteria) etc has difficulties eating 1200 calories even when using glucerna etc. just wondering at what point should I contact doctor and request 'tube' feeding. Problem is that seeing PCP is difficult as she IS bedbound and needs gurney to get in to see him, We have a Nurse Practitioner that comes once a month.

multiple health issues as mentioned above as well as issues created by hospital stays and SNF stay has just made her depressed and basically not wanting to do much. With more feeding and PT she could be out of bed and closer to normal in a month or so.
