My wife (70) has MD and has been sick but now better. Lately sleeping 20 + hours /day. Why?

Last week in hosp. for pneumonia. Now better + Now home but sleeping 17-20 hrs / day. O2 + vitals all good. Is sleeping so much OK?? She is not easily awakened. Generally confused for 10 minutes or as she is waking up. Should I be worried?

When first mentioned to our primary, he did not seem alarmed (just a weakened body working on recovery from pneumonia and hospital care.)
We are due to see him on Friday, but if she remains asleep throughout the night and into the AM, I will call him.
Also, I do pray and listen to the Lord. He is ever faithful.
When I listen for the His direction, I hear Him clearly say for me to be at ease. Her body is healing. Trust Him. I do, and I also remain concerned as well. I look forward to seeing her wake up healed, happy and healthy.
But I am also going to act wisely. Thanks for your concern.

Curious what your wife's doctor is saying about this.
