Should assisted living staff leave meds on the table when my Mom isn't in her room?
I worry because we are not really sure if she is taking it, or also worry if someone else may wander into her room and take it. somehow this doesn't seem very safe.
It's totally irresponsible. I would be raising the roof if it ever happened again. Really? Depending on the medication? I might even be reporting them.
If they are responsible for administering meds, they should be kept in a locked box and the techs administering the meds should hand her the dosage and watch her take them.
Generally in assistive living you are paying extra to have meds administered by staff. There is no way that leaving them on the table is sufficient, they should be handing them to her and making sure she takes them!!!
