All of her grandchildren and even us kids do not like being around her anymore. Everyone used to love being around her. I am worried it is early alzheimers or late onset bi polar disorder. She has become very argumentative, She'll go through bouts of panic attacks, I've witnessed these where she is near hysterics. My poor Dad is having to deal with this and he is aging before our eyes.
If we even mention that we think something is wrong with her she goes ballistic. We got her to go to a psychiatrist once, then she said she, after meeting the first time how helpful he was. Her regular doctor then told her she didn't need to go to him so she refused to go back. I have always thought her doctor is a quack but she thinks he is God and will not consent to seeing another doctor. Please help if any of you recognize these symptoms. My Dad and I are trying so hard to figure this out.

Sometimes you have to wait for something like a fall to happen, so that they are hospitalized and dad can state that he can no longer care for her at home. Psychiatric meds would make a huge difference in her behavior, but only if she'll take them.
you might consider getting dad out of there for a stay with relatives or friends so that he can regroup. If nothing else, get dad to the psychiatrist for help is coping with this very stressful situation.
