My Mother had some seizure activity recently. She had one last year. Is this common with demented patients?

there are no other health issues besides the dementia. oh, she is bedridden. does not have conversation, only a word or so on occasion . After these episodes she seem to be more alert and a little more talkative for several weeks. do you think it would help to admit her to the hospital for testing. she is now back to what is her norm.

Is you mom taking Namenda? One of the possible side effects is seizures.

Did she initially see a neurologist? If so, I would call them for advice.

Seizures aren't common in people with dementia. Has she been checked out by a Dr.?
