Can I get paid to take care of my soon to be mother-in-law?
She is in her last stage of COPD and was giving 6 moths to live.

Doubtful you can be paid, but some states have programs that might pay you for several hours or more a day. Call senior services in her town, township or county.
If your MIL can pay you, she can pay you directly.
