My mother is 69 and in a senior living community. She had a stroke a few years ago and needs some help during the day. The community she is in is nice but she doesn't like it because the average age is 85. She had been unable to connect with anyone and feels lonely. I'm looking for other living options that will give her the minimal care she needs and give her some activity she would enjoy. Living with me is probably not an option as I work long hours during the week.

You could try to find her a place in another IL facility and hire someone to come in during the day. But don't be surprised if you run into the same problem. Many people who are getting older and incapacitated don't see themselves that way. They just see that the other people around them are older or incapacitated. :-)
That makes me think of the life alert advertisement where the mother said she didn't think she needed life alert -- "That was for old people." How true to life that statement was.
