Isn't hospice people taught to watch out for distant family members showing up out of the blue? These are the worst kind of family members these are the ones that are looking to get rich. Will do or say anything to make sure things go their way. If the Hospice RN nor the Social Worker can't see this then why are they working at all....I thought Hospice was all about the patient...Hospice employee s couldn't step up than they need to step down and find another job. Where can I file a complaint about these zhodpice employees?

Hospice is NOT a 24 hour hand-on service, they come during the week for a half hour or less to check on the patient and they leave. The RN will be scheduled for let's say Monday of each week, then on Wednesday a Hospice volunteer will visit for a while, on Friday a nurse Aide will drop by to see how the patient is doing, and the Hospice physician will come by if the RN request a visit.
Therefore, I don't understand why you are angry at Hospice since someone else must be taking care of the patient in the mean time.
(a) What prior notice you gave to hospice staff to "watch out for distant family members" as well as what behavior could be expected, and why they apparently should have been denied access to someone?
(b) Did you have injunctions against the family members? What notice did you provide them not to appear? And how did they find out that someone was in hospice in the first place? Did you tell them?
(c) What behavior did these distant relatives exhibit that was so egregious? Did they attempt to get documents signed? Money transferred?
(d) I would suspect that the people who work in Hospice are doing so because they are compassionate, caring, and want to help. Taking care of dying people is not an easy job.
I also assume they didn't become involved because they wanted to be medical police.
(e) I think more information on the situation is required before anyone can suggest how to file a complaint.
I.e., what REALLY happened?
