They may or may not depending on the level of care needed. My mom needed much help with redirection and staying busy to stave off the agitation. Her hubby on the other hand only needed occasional assistance, mostly with dealing with Mom. The ageny rate for Mom was $18.00 an hour and that was with a regular schedule in place. Rate increased to $20.00 if agency only on as as needed basis. The rate if her hubby needed assistance as well increased to $20.00 and $22.00. Howver, if either of them had increased care needs the rate would increase.
Look at the contract. There are different rates for HHA or PCA or CNA. Now if the CNA also has medication certification, there could be a higher rate for passing medications. Review what services are needed, how many hours or minutes are allotted and what the skill level is for each task.
