Female double lung transplant pt with lung failure, 54, needs high oxygen. My sister-in-law drove herself to a hospital in July and got admitted for shortness of breath. She was released after 3 weeks on oxygen, was home 4 days before having a crisis, went back, was put in an induced coma for three weeks, was brought back up, made good strides in PT despite many setbacks, was sent to a rehab center, had another crisis, went back to the hospital, etc. In the most recent rehab center, after her oxygen equipment failed at least 3 times and she almost died each time, we had her transferred to the hospital again. We're expecting to be dumped back out to either assisted living or home, and we don't have adequate caregiving capacity at home. She will need continuous oxygen from 8L to 15L or even more. If you have any ideas, please share!
