Anyone with experience with light therapy boxes?

My husband is 75 with vascular dementia and is having sleep issues. One thing his doctor recommended this morning is using a light therapy box twice a day to help regulate the circadian rhythm. I checked them on line and there are many. But I thought I should ask the other caregivers out there before I plunk down up to $200 on something I know nothing about.

Don't waste your money, all you need to do is leave the house lights on inside, lamps on high, curtains open, make it bright until sunset or until bedtime. The hard part is getting them to NOT doze off in the afternoon.

I bought mine on Amazon for $70. The thing is that you must follow the instructions in use . You sit in front of it for 20 minutes allowing the light to enter the eye. Don't look directly into the light but glance at it . You can read while sitting in front of it you just have to glance at it every minute or so. Is you husband able to do this or is his dementia too disabling to follow simple instructions? I used it for SAD as well as insomnia. It didn't help me but regular morning exercise helped some.
